Our government is taking concrete action to help Canadian employers, including those in the tourism industry, find the workers they need by allowing more young foreigners to travel and work in Canada. By giving young people the opportunity to experience work and travel abroad, we are strengthening our economy and helping Canadian businesses succeed, especially in areas like Banff that need seasonal workers.
– The Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship
Young people from abroad are an asset to Canada. From building relationships to contributing to the success of our businesses, young people from abroad are a source of value to communities across Canada. Today’s announcement will help sectors such as tourism find the workers they need to address labour shortages, while giving young people the opportunity to explore Canada’s diverse cultures, languages and societies.
– The Honourable Marci Ien, Minister of Women and Gender Equality and Youth
