TEMPORARY WORKER: PROGRAM ISSUES

Of course, temporary foreign recruitment in Canada is not a quick fix for employers who need to hire heavily and quickly. As with everything, there is a downside.

1-Hard to bring your family with you when you first leave:
In principle, temporary foreign workers do not have the option of bringing their families with them when they first leave

2-The nature of the work permit which is closed:
This permit gives them the opportunity to be employed by a single employer for the period defined in advance in an employment contract

1. Talent shortage

Demand is rather limited for temporary positions. In this post-pandemic economy, many job seekers are looking for the security of a permanent position. And few passive candidates (those who would gladly change jobs but are not actively looking) are willing to trade a full-time position for temporary work.

2. Increased need for training

All employers know that training employees is a significant investment of time and money. The higher the turnover (as is often the case with temporary placements), the more expensive the training will be.

3. Lack of camaraderie

If employees come and go all the time, your team will probably not be well bonded. On the other hand, you may find it difficult to integrate temporary workers into a group of permanent workers.
.

5. Legal implications

If you are not using an employment agency to handle all the administrative and legal aspects of hiring, make sure you are aware of your obligations as an employer. Canadian labour law, including the Employment Standards Act, does not guarantee the same rights to temporary and permanent workers. Any administrative error could result in fines and significant consequences.
